Taina Pankiewicz
chief operating officer

Taina Pankiewicz’s classical education was in accounting and economics and she holds a Bachelor’s in each.  Consequently, when she first joined ESI, she played a key role in developing the company’s accounting infrastructure, systems and procedures.  However, as the company grew and changed, so too did her role; she currently oversees all aspects of the business’ administration, participates heavily in business development, and marketing and serves as a Principal on some projects.

Taina’s background in economics aids her decisions regarding markets to pursue, identification of existing players, and appropriate strategies for market entry.  This logically ties into marketing and proposal generation.  Taina’s role as Project Principal flows from her marketing efforts and is typically associated with project initiation, design and staffing; however after working closely with Dr. Brack for almost a decade, she is also directly involved in project agency coordination, especially for multispecies Section 7 coordination under ESA.

As part of her administrative responsibilities, Taina provides oversight to the accounting department, is responsible for third party financial inputs, and oversees contracting and staffing decisions.  She also oversees maintenance of ESI’s state DOT prequalifications.  Since Taina has recently become the majority owner at ESI, the company is aggressively pursuing women-owned business status with entities offering such a certification.
